Description

The Joint Master of Architecture is jointly organized by the architecture departments of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO) and the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH). The partner schools are the Haute école du paysage, d'ingénierie, d'architecture (HEPIA) de Genève (EIG), the Fribourg School of Engineering and Architecture (HTA-FR) and the Burgdorf School of Architecture, Building and Wood (HSB).

The study program is based on the mobility principle. This combines a regional rooting (parallel workshops at the different locations) with a common input of theoretical and optional modules held alternately at the three locations.

The curriculum focuses on projects, cross-disciplinary knowledge, and research. Emphasis is placed on three areas of expertise:

  • Process Design
  • Habitat
  • City and territory

The program consists of three consecutive semesters, a summer academy, and a master's thesis semester. The program can be completed full-time or part-time.
