The Lucerne University of Teacher Education defines itself as a competence and impulse center for teacher education, pedagogy and didactics with cantonal sponsorship, regional anchoring, national impact and international networking.

Our mission

• We train teachers for elementary and secondary level II as well as vocational school teachers and lecturers at colleges of higher education.
• We understand teacher education as a lifelong process that includes scientifically based education, professional introduction, further education and additional training.
• We are committed to adult education.
• We conduct professional research and development that meets international quality requirements and fosters international exchange.
• We provide services in the field of education for the Canton of Lucerne, the region of Central Switzerland and for third parties.
• We are guided by current knowledge, methods and the ethos of science and pay attention to the needs of practice in all areas of activity.
• We assume joint responsibility for the educational system of Central Switzerland, reflect on it and actively help to shape it.
