Internationally competitive research and innovative teaching with a broad spectrum
The Faculty of Economics is the second youngest of the seven faculties at the University of Basel and was established in 1995. At that time, however, the subject of economics could already look back on a tradition of almost 150 years in Basel. The Faculty of Economics (WWZ) has around 30 professors and 100 research assistants. It maintains an astonishingly broad spectrum of scientific disciplines for its size. In addition, a major strength of the faculty lies in internationally competitive research in topics relevant to Switzerland.
