NISM Investment Advisor - Updated Syllabus

00:00

Hello everyone, so in this we will be discussing about the updated syllabus of NISM

00:10

Investment Advisor level 1 exam, I have already uploaded a playlist and many of you were

00:16

having doubts you were asking in the comments section that now the syllabus has been updated,

00:22

so is the playlist which has been uploaded useful or not because the syllabus has been

00:28

changed, what to do, how to go about it. So I will try to give you a brief idea about

00:34

to what is the new updated syllabus and how is that related to already uploaded videos,

00:40

how what you can gain, what extra efforts you would have to take and what more topics I would

00:46

have to cover in this playlist. So you will assume that you will have a proper clarity about

00:51

you exam and what you have to do regarding it. So here I have put the updated syllabus in a

00:58

simple format to make you understand, so now your syllabus has been divided into total of

01:06

six modules and 20 chapters. So previously it was 12 chapters only, now it has been 20 chapters divided

01:14

into six modules. So your first module is about the personal financial planning which includes 4 chapters

01:23

that is introduction to personal financial planning, time value of money evaluating financial

01:29

position of clients and debt management and loans. Your second module is covering Indian financial

01:36

market which includes chapter 5 and 6 introduction to Indian financial market and securities market

01:44

your third module is covering investment products which includes your introduction to investments,

01:50

stocks, fix income securities and derivatives. Coming to module 4th it will be including your

01:58

chapter 1112 and 13 which is useful funds for your manager and alternative investment funds.

02:05

Your module 5 will be including 1415 and 16 chapter which is modern portfolio to report

02:12

portfolio construction process and portfolio performance measurement. So all about related to

02:17

portfolio management. Now module 6 is totally about the regulatory environment and compliance and ethics.

02:24

So chapter 17 to 20 is about operational aspects, the regulation, ethical issues and

02:30

demand progress mechanism. Now this is your totally new updated syllabus. Now if you think that

02:38

whatever video has been uploaded in the playlist by me is totally irrelevant because this syllabus

02:44

has been changed. That's a wrong perception because always when you are studying, you do study

02:52

topic wise, don't look after the number numbering of the chapter because many a times it happens

02:58

that and I assume these are what we call these modules, these exams they are subject to make

03:07

changes according to the time. But that doesn't mean the whole syllabus or the basic knowledge,

03:13

the basic idea would be or would be alternating or something like that. There is addition,

03:20

there is addition, there is not what we see that totally irrelevant, the previous one will be totally

03:26

irrelevant and now there is something new that you have to study, there will be addition of topics,

03:32

there will be a fashion of data regardless of that it doesn't mean that the previously uploaded chapters

03:39

are totally useless. So now I will tell you how you can go about your study and what all chapters

03:46

are already covered in the playlist and what all would be additional chapters that I will be

03:51

focusing upon in the coming videos. So let's see. Now if you can see this is the total chapters

03:58

that I have already uploaded in the playlist, their chapter 1 is introduction to

04:03

financial market and chapter 2 its securities market segment. Now I'll show you that this chapter

04:10

1 and chapter 2 of previous syllabus is now part of module 2 so you can see chapter 5 and chapter 6

04:19

introduction to Indian financial market securities market segment. So module 2, chapter number 5 and

04:27

has been uploaded as chapter 1 and 2 you can see the topic are exactly the same introduction to

04:32

Indian financial market and securities market segment. Now then I have uploaded chapter 3 which

04:39

is about module 5, module 5 is totally described in an elaborate manner and if you go through

04:46

these part 1 and part 2 videos of usual 5, I don't think anything in addition related to this topic

04:54

you would have to study and this topic is still included in your new updated syllabus which is

05:00

with the name chapter 11. So module 4, chapter 11 is totally focusing on useful funds.

05:09

Coming to chapter 4 which is investment products you can see that this investment products

05:15

is now referred under module 3. So just have a focus in the investment

05:22

in the updated syllabus it is now referred as module 3 investment products where it has been

05:27

discussed about investment stocks fixed in come securities and derivatives. So all these

05:32

topics has already been covered and it is and it is under chapter 4 investment product. So you can

05:39

see how there is shuffle in the numbering of chapters for the topic case. We can go by the topic

05:46

it is still included. There is addition of topics which I will be telling you what all is left

05:51

and not covered and what what if first we will have to make to cover those videos.

05:57

Now coming to chapter 5 investment risk and in chapter 6 investment return and again this

06:03

forms a part of this whole module 3 investment product and module 4 investment through

06:10

module. So you module 3 and module 4 in bits and pieces will be covering this chapter 5

06:17

and chapter 6 as well. Coming to chapter 7 concept of financial planning. So you can see

06:23

now this chapter has been made more to one person in financial planning. So chapter 1

06:30

introduction to person financial planning, fine value of money evaluating financial

06:34

position of plans and that management and loans. Here we are missing on two of the important

06:42

topics which has now been focused. So chapter 2 time value of money has been included in the

06:49

in the chapters that I have uploaded in the playlist but I am thinking that I am making a separate

06:55

video on this chapter 2 time value of money because this would be now in focus. It has been

07:01

a totally new chapter rather than being a part of the chapter. So I will be uploading one more

07:06

video which would be totally focused on time value of money and then this chapter 4 which is

07:12

death management and loans. This is not covered in the present uploaded playlist by me. So the

07:20

chapter 4 death management and loans are request you that if you are having the exams nearby,

07:26

you please study this chapter 4 take references or through any websites or wherever you can.

07:34

You try to study this chapter by your own because it has not been covered and by my side I will

07:40

try to make a video on this chapter but I can't assure like by what time. But as surely

07:47

like as surely cover this video in the coming weeks. So this time value of money and death

07:53

management and loans will be covered by me and I will be uploading separate videos focusing on

07:59

these two topics. I will not be mentioning numbers this time. I will just be uploading videos

08:05

topic why so that you don't have any confusion and you can gain as much knowledge as will be required

08:12

for your exam. Now coming to chapter 8 asset allocation and investment strategies again this

08:20

would be a part of your module 3 and 4 which focuses on investment. Chapter 9 10 and 11 which is

08:26

about insurance planning, environment planning and East state planning. This is now covered

08:31

under your module 1 of personal financial planning. So personal financial planning, now covers

08:38

it has not been mentioned as a separate chapter but it has now been mentioned as a part of personal

08:45

financial planning. So these chapters would be helpful if you are targeting on your preparation

08:51

for module 1. So you can go through these chapters. Now chapter 12 which is regulatory

08:57

environment is now a part of our module 6 operations regulatory environment compliance and ethics.

09:04

One more thing is that are the uploading the few more videos related to ethical issues because

09:10

has been totally uncovered in the present playlist. So I will be uploading a video representing

09:17

this ethical issues and advanced regression mechanism has been covered but in parts in different

09:23

videos. So I will touch upon it. I will see that if I can help you out with a separate topic on this

09:30

4 for your management. Again I will be adding one more video focusing on this 4 for your management

09:38

So this is the whole plan. The whole idea is whatever videos has been right now uploaded in the

09:45

playlist you please go through those videos that is not a relevant in any way it would be helpful

09:52

for you for your exam purpose. The main thing that has been now in the updated syllabus is that

09:59

more additions of the topics has been made. So for that reason now onwards I will be uploading

10:07

some more videos topic wise which would help you focus upon the topics that has not been covered.

10:14

So for example time value of money, debt management and loans I will be covering ethical issues

10:20

advanced address mechanism for your management. So these 5 to 6 topics I will be uploading

10:26

in addition to the present playlist. So go through present playlist. I will be uploading more

10:30

topics. Go through those also. I am sure it would be helpful for your exam and I hope this

10:36

brings you a little clarity about this now and all the best and try going through all the videos.

10:43

I hope these videos would be supportive for you. Thank you so much for watching.
